Talk 'N Text takes PBA Commissioner's Cup title
MANILA, Philippines – Talk 'N Text won the 2011 PBA Commissioner's Cup title after beating Barangay Ginebra in overtime, 99-96, to close their championship series in Game 6.

The Texters ended their best-of-7 title showdown against the Gin Kings with 4 wins against 2 losses.

“It’s a really, really good series [with Ginebra]. It’s very difficult. I’m very proud of the heart of my players. This team has an unbelievable heart,” Talk N Text coach Chot Reyes said.

Jason Castro and Jimmy Alapag were chosen as Finals co-MVPs.

“Thank you po sa lahat ng TNT fans sa mga teammates ko na laging pinu-push ako sa mga mali ko at mga tamang ginagawa,” said Castro.

Alapag, on the other hand, thanked Ginebra for giving them a thrilling series.

“I said in the beginning of the series, they are an amazing team they have an amazing crowd,” he said.

Alapag scored 24 points for the Texters while Castro and import Paul Harris added 19 and 18, respectively.

Willie Miller paced the Gin Kings with 21 points. Conference Best Import Nate Brumfield chipped in 18.

It is the second straight title victory by the Texters, after winning this season’s Philippine Cup crown.

Talk ‘N Text has to win the next conference title to complete its quest for a Grand Slam, a rare feat achieved just 4 times in PBA history.

The Crispa Redmanizers have 2, while the San Miguel Beermen and the Alaska Aces have one each.
